NIT Services achieves CMMC-AB RPO Designation

NIT Services, an XentIT company and a Maryland corporation with office in Landover, announced today that it has been approved as a Registered Provider Organization (RPO) by the Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification Accreditation Board (CMMC-AB). This designation is awarded to companies that have deep expertise in cybersecurity services, and have trained and certified cybersecurity professionals on staff who are also certified as Registered Providers (RP) by CMMC-AB. The certification also requires RPOs to be owned by US citizens.

The CMMC is intended to serve as a verification mechanism to ensure appropriate levels of cybersecurity practices and processes are in place to ensure basic cyber hygiene as well as protect controlled unclassified information (CUI) that resides on Department’s industry partners’ networks. These partners are generally referred to as Defense Industrial Base (DIB). The CMMC encompasses multiple maturity levels that ranges from “Basic Cybersecurity Hygiene” to “Advanced/Progressive”. The intent is to incorporate CMMC into Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement (DFARS) and use it as a requirement for contract award.

NIT has years of experience helping DOD contractors meeting their cybersecurity requirements including NIST 800-171. Please visit our page https://www.nitservices.com/cmmc-stack/ for more information on how our comprehensive offering helps you prepare for CMMC certification.
